      Objectives To investigate needs on transitional care among discharged patients after operation of ear diseases, so as to provide basis for meeting patients’ needs and for reasonable arrangement of service resources. Methods 210 discharged patients were surveyed by questionnaire, including contents and methods of transitional care. Results Except knowledge of emergency treatment and exercise guidance, patients’ needs were different among different stages, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.001). Patients were inclined to get service of reminding review, outpatient services and telephone consulting services. Conclusions Nurses should put forward discharged plan according to diverse patients’ needs at different stages and arrange return visit. Nurse managers should adjust allocation of human resources to provide effective transitional care.
